Can you give an hour a week?  An hour a month?  You probably don't realize how much work is currently done by so few parents in providing a quality soccer program.  We always need more involvement in such areas as fundraising, marketing, administration, tournaments and promotions.  For more detailed information, please contact LSA at 678-450-6515.

About Lanier Soccer
Lanier Soccer Association (LSA) is a volunteer-operated non-profit corporation located in Hall County, Georgia. LSA is a member Georgia Youth soccer Association (GYSA) and abide by their rules and regulations. LSA strives to promote positive character traits and physically fit youth so they may mature into strong, healthy adults. LSA attempts to meet its objectives by offering the youth of the community a supervised learning environment to develop as soccer players in such a way that is fun and rewarding. The parents and players of two Recreation Program Clubs and one Select Program Club make up the general membership of LSA.

LSA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of representation from both the Recreational (4) and the Academy/Select (3) programs. The general membership elects the Board of Directors annually. A vote of the Board, or their duly authorized representative, decides all matters concerning the policy of the association. The Committees plan and determine policy and operational procedures to submit to the LSA Board for approval and are responsible to see that the duties of the committee are carried out to completion. LSA Committees include: Coaching, Constitution and By Laws, Discipline and Protest, Election, Equipment, Fields, Finance, Fund Raising, Public Relations, Referees, Registration, Risk Management, and Special Events.

LSA Board meetings are generally held 6:30 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday each month at the office at Allen Creek Soccer Complex, unless otherwise schedule and posted on this website. Anyone with concerns or questions is responsible for contacting the appropriate Board member and/or Committee Director. If the Board member or Committee determines the issue is to come before the LSA Board of Directors, the member or Committee Chairman will notify the LSA Board Chairman in advance to have the subject added to the next meeting agenda. They may request a special Board meeting to deal with issues requiring immediate attention. Each committee will schedule meetings as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.

Club Refund Policy
Due to the family commitment necessary to form Academy & Select teams, as well as the general challenges of conducting registration, forming teams, notifying parents and getting the season underway in a timely manner for all players, LSA does not issue refunds except in the following 2 cases:  family relocation or player injury.

GAINESVILLE - The Lanier Soccer Association presented an oversized $100,000.00 check Thursday at Elite Soccer Academy to officials from Gainesville Parks and Recreation and Hall County Parks and Leisure.

"We had a pledge five years ago to Allen Creek Soccer Complex of $100,000.00, and today we are completing that pledge," said Franklin McIntosh, owner of Elite and the Director of Coaching for the LSA.

The LSA' s precursor, the Georgia Mountain Soccer Association made the pledge when the complex was a mere proposal and paid $20 thousand before its completion in 2001.  Since then, they have been paying the pledge using money raised from member fees, sales and fundraisers such as the Buy-a Brick campaign.

"Lot of hard work, lot of volunteer work," said McIntosh, "We're a non-profit organization, but we make money through tournaments, through camps, registrations, a lot of different ways."  He said the Complex was worth the investment, "Allen Creek Soccer Complex is probably the best soccer facility in the southeast. The kids, they love it. The parents from other places can't believe we have something this nice in this area."

Former LSA president Dan Lewis presented the check to Parks and Recreation Director Melvin Cooper, Chairman Joe Biddy, and Parks and Leisure Director Debbie Mockus.

Noted in the presentation for their work in the effort were LSA Chairman Farrow Peacock; LSA officers: President Randy Bruce, Registrar Ramona Bruce, and Treasurer Dave Allman; South Hall Soccer Club President Jay Kelly, who helped form GMSA; Randy Smith and Charlie Lathem, who spearheaded the Buy-a-Brick fund raiser; and former LSA President Mike Rodrigues.
