Recreational Practices coming soon to a field near you!
|
WOW! What a great Spring season we are going to have in 2012. We have added 20 new recreational teams for this spring. Most of those teams now have coaches, and the coaches have just received their packets that include rosters. If you haven't already you should be hearing for your coach this week regarding practices. If you don't hear from your coach this week, please feel free to email us at

Volunteer Coaches Urgently Needed for U6 & U8 Teams!
Thank you so much to all the fabulous volunteers who have responded to our plea for help coaching this upcoming Spring season! Without fantastic volunteers our soccer program can't exist! As previously reported, we have experienced a huge boom in registrations for this season. We hope to have 47 teams in the U6 & U8 age divisions this season! That means the we need at least 47 volunteer coaches in order to be able to place all the kids who have registered with us. We have most of the positions filled, but we still need 3 coaches for U6 girls, 3 coaches for U6 boys, and 1 coach for U8 girls. Without these additional coaches we cannot place the remaining players onto teams for this season. If we don't find these additional coaches we will be forced to turn away the last 18 boys and 18 girls who registered for U6 soccer and the last 10 girls who registered for U8 soccer. We place players onto teams in the order by which they registered. Exceptions obviously are made to this priority for those who volunteer to coach- your kid gets placed even if you were the final registration we received! If you or somebody you know would like to help bring the game of soccer to our children, please volunteer!
We provide coaching instruction, and there are FREE coaching clinics offered at Allen Creek and the surrounding area over the next few weeks. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
"I would coach, but I really don't know anything about the game." The only true requirements to becoming an effective recreational program soccer coach are a desire to have a positive impact on a group of children and a willingness to give a few hours of your time each week.
As far as all of the standard excuses go, "I don't even know the rules", "I've never played before", they simply don't apply. With a half day investment for a state 'G' coaching certificate (U6-U8) or one full day investment for a state 'F' coaching certificate (U8-U12) plus a little mentoring from our Director of Coaching you can teach kids the fundamentals and run effective practice sessions. More importantly, your time enables a group of kids to enjoy an activity that connects them to the entire world - and it's great fun!! If you think you would like to provide an opportunity like that, contact us. We'll help you be very successful.
